Editorial|Donors & Sponsors After the cyclone Nargis had hit the Delta region in May 2008 leaving behind a wave of destruction and death, Myanmar Development Aid and Uniteam Marine Yangon (UMY) began in June 2008 with the reconstruction of a middle- and-high school (6th to 10th grade) in the village of Kyet Pha Hmwe Zaung. The work is in full swing. For the construction of the new school building with a capacity up to 1200 children, a new location was chosen because the previous site was already too small. The new school will comprise three buildings (each 36m x 9m x 4m) with a total of 16 rooms, one of which will be used by the teaching staff and administration. In addition, two buildings, for separate six girls’ and boys’ lavatories are planned.
