Another community-run orphanage, the Htaukyant orphanage houses 28 girls and boys between the ages of four to seven years of age. The orphanage itself is located on the outskirts of Yangon, opposite the “World War II Cemetery”. Without foreign aid, this orphanage would not be able to last another five days. Even after Nargis, Uniteam Marine was able to supply the orphanage with fortnightly rations of food, through generous donations by NRS (Norddeutsche Reederei Schuldt).   The ice cream fascination is just as great with the children in this orphanage as with the others.
