Emergency Relief After Nargis Through donations from the Myanmar Development Aid (MDA), friends and clients of our partner Uniteam Marine Yangon (UMY) it was possible to provide quick and uncomplicated food distributions in the effected regions. “Sacred Heart Church” - Orphanage for Boys in Kyaukthan In the village of Kyauktan, some 50 km east of Yangon, the squalls from Nargis damaged the entire roof structure of the catholic orphanage of Sacred Heart Church. MDA provided financial help for the repairs.   A majority of Uniteam Marine Yangon personnel volunteered to help with food distribution projects and the repair of damaged buildings. Rice Distribution in Aung Chan Thar In the period of May 10 -18th 2008, the purchase of 1800 kg of rice was financed by MDA. The rice sacks were distributed by UMY to the starving inhabitants of the village of Aung Chan Thar, east of Yangon.
